North London House

Contemporary Home in the Suburbs

Status Planning

This new dwelling has been designed for a large back garden site in suburban North London. We have received positive pre-application advice from the Local Authority and are preparing a Planning Application.

In order to protect neighbouring trees and maximise back garden space, the house has been designed as close to the pavement as possible and the first floor cantilevers upto the boundary. Windows are carefully positioned in order to avoid overlooking of neighbouring properties and afford views in specific directions. The brick and scorched timber facade reference the surrounding buildings and landscape, rooting the building in the site and wooded back drop.
